Fantastic Come Back for Alcott and Solid X Games Results

In Alpine Skiing, Chemmy Alcott scored points in her first World Cup following her comeback from injury, placing 23rd in the Super G in Cortina d’Ampezzo yesterday. Alcott has now got four World Cup races under her belt after also racing two Downhill races and another Super G in Cortina over the last four days.

The X Games in Aspen saw four British athletes taking part. In Snowboard Slopestyle Aimee Fuller landed an impressive double back flip in the final sealing her 7th place overall. Billy Morgan narrowly missed out on the finals but turned a few heads when given the opportunity to ride in finals practice as he performed back to back triples. James Woods also missed out on the Ski Slopestyle finals, despite putting in two solid runs in the elimination rounds. Zoe Gillings qualified for the finals of the Snowboard Cross, but didn’t take her place in the start gate after a fall in training which made her feel ‘not 100%’.

Dougie Crawford and TJ Baldwin placed 19th and 21st in the first Super G FIS Race in Val d’Isere on Saturday. The following race saw TJ finish in 25th with Dougie not finishing. They also both raced in the Europa Cup Downhill on Friday in Val d’Isere with Dougie coming 59th and TJ 63rd. Dave Ryding competed in the Kitzbühel World Cup Slalom on Friday, unfortunately not making it through to the finals. He will race tomorrow in the Schladming World Cup night Slalom.

In Ski Cross, Emily Sarsfield, Pam Thorburn and Ed Drake raced in the World Cup in Kresichberg, Austria. Unfortunately, none of them made it through to finals. In the ladies qualifier, Pam placed 35th with Emily placing 36th, whilst in the mens, Ed came 36th.
