BBC Sport will be providing comprehensive coverage of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games which will run from the 12 February to 28 February, including the Opening and Closing ceremonies.

ParalympicsGB has today announced the team that will compete in alpine skiing, at the Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada from March 12-21, 2010.

Phil Lane, Chief Executive of ParalympicsGB, said of the team: “I am delighted to announce that six skiers will represent ParalympicsGB at the Paralympic Winter Games. “Following the success we had in Beijing, there has been more and more public interest in Britain’s Paralympians and we hope that the British public will support our Winter Paralympic team as much as they did our highly successful summer team.” “It is fantastic that we are in a position to announce such a large alpine skiing team. I recently paid a visit to the Metro Ski and Snowboard show 2009, at the Olympia exhibition centre, in London. I have been going to the ski show, in its various formats, for over 20 years now and it has always inspired that feeling of the start of the new winter skiing season. This year was billed as the biggest ever and certainly I felt the atmosphere was good for a Wednesday evening, the first day of the show. It was nice to see plenty of people there especially in the current economic climate and most of the stand holders I spoke to were positive about the days business.
