Artic Marathon 2014

A Life-Changing Arctic Adventure…

The Arctic Marathon is the latest in a series of new trips designed by Walk the Walk, the charity best known for its bra-clad moonlit marathons through London and Edinburgh – the Moon Walks.

But this challenge is different. Following a back country ski trail through the stunning wilderness of the Abisko National Park in Swedish Lapland, the trip will be tough but rewarding as well as offering life-changing experiences and a chance to see the Arctic wilderness without other tourists.

Artic Marathon 2014

Highlights include:

  • The chance to complete a 42 kilometre course, in small groups of eight or fewer, accompanied by supportive park rangers.
  • Experiencing a chairlift ride into the mountains, two days of trekking, and three nights in snug mountain lodges looking out for the legendary Northern Lights.
  • Followed by two nights of luxury in the iconic Ice Hotel, plus a husky-sled ride to the airport.
  • …And on top of everything, knowing that this amazing experience has raised money to fight breast cancer!

Although the challenge will appeal mainly to ski-fans, different levels of skill are supported, so less experienced skiers can join in. Groups are well supported by park rangers and Walk the Walk staff. It really is a fundraising challenge with a difference.

The challenge takes place annually – the next one runs from 27th February to 4th March 2014 – and you can sign up now. Visit www.walkthewalk.org/Challenges/TheArcticMarathon for more details.
