Spring Break

Kaunertal Spring Break Snowboard Tests 2015

Whilst our skiing friends are packing up their skis and planning their summer holidays, the snowboard community is getting ready for the Spring Break snowboard Test 2015.

It all kicks off on Saturday 2nd May and will run through to Friday 8th May.  The fun and frolics will be at the glacier resort of Kaunertal in Austria.

All the major snowboard brands will be there showcasing next season’s line of snowboards, so it is an excellent opportunity to test them out and get your wish list ready.

With the recent dump of major snow in Kaunertal the signs are good for the Spring Break.  But, of course, it is not all about the shredding; there will be some serious end-of-season partying going on, such as the Whitelines party on the Sunday evening and the Monster Party on the Tuesday evening.  There will also be some proper Aprés Austrian style with the Analog Après, also on the Tuesday.

There will also be fun events and shows throughout the week such as the screening of the excellent Volcom film ‘Mr.Plant’, staring the versatile snowboarding genius Pat Moore.  This was one of my favourite films of the year and worth watching.  You can read my review of the film Mr.Plant here.  Catch the screening on Monday night while enjoying a few beers.  There are also hints of Volcom flying over a few special guests for you to mingle with as well!

On the Sunday you can enter (it is free!) the popular Whitelines rail jam, followed by the Dragon Methodical Madness event on Monday, where you can compete against the best in styling out the boss of all tricks; the Method.

To go, you need to book through the official website (click here for pricing) and the pricing starts as little as 158 Euros!  For this you get a self catering apartment for 3 days and 3 nights, your ski lift pass and event entry ID – Not bad!

It goes without saying that I will be there enjoying shredding on the latest planks and partying the night away – hopefully I will see you there?
